Lea Michele is Pretty in Pink

Lea Michele made a fashion splash in this adorable pink ensemble on Monday. The skirt and top are by Jenni Kayne, and Lea finished the look with a pair of chunky gray suede pumps. I want this outfit!

All Hail Elizabeth Banks

There have been a lot of Hunger Games related posts on the site recently, but I can't help it. I'm absolutely fascinated and leaning towards obsessed. The movie comes out Friday, but this will basically be going on until the end of March. I'm not sorry!

But let's get down to it, Elizabeth Banks has been rocking the premieres like it's nobody's business. Not only has she been consistently fashionable, she's created a theme worthy of Effie Trinket herself. All of her dresses have been bright, sparkly, and in fruity colors. I just love it.

At the Los Angeles premiere, she started out with a short orange dress with fun plastic swirls. Then in London she donned a long yellow Bill Blass gown. For the Paris premiere she chose a holographic magenta Marc Jacobs dress, and at the latest premiere in Berlin, Elizabeth went with orange again in a long Elie Saab.

I feel like it's so perfect. I swear Cinna is her stylist.

London Premiere Fashion

The Hunger Games cast traveled to London for another premiere and they did not disappoint! Check out Jennifer Lawrence and Elizabeth Banks killing it on the red carpet in Ralph Lauren and a backless Bill Blass.

I like that these ladies are creating a color scheme for their premiere wardrobes. Jennifer is wearing metallics in the gold family, while Elizabeth is going for citrus tones. I also like that they're both reminiscent of fire *hint hint.

If you want to read about the premiere, check out this article written by my friend Darci. You can find more "behind the scenes" stuff on her blog. She's studying abroad in London right and went to the premiere at the O2 Arena. Oh, and did I mention that she got to see the VIP screening? Yeah, she's kind of awesome.

Notable Fashion from The Hunger Games Premiere

It has started! The first premiere for The Hunger Games was held in Los Angeles, which means we're getting closer and closer to the grand release date.
Let's start with Jennifer Lawrence, who completely aced the night in her gold Prabal Gurung gown. It had cutout sides and back, an ultra cool metallic sheen, and some sheer fabric on the shoulders. I love her hair and dark nails, too. She definitely looks like a girl on fire.
Next up is Elizabeth Banks, who also went for a fiery approach to fashion. Her orange dress featured plastic, circular designs, which I have to admit is growing on me (It's very Effie, no?). The hair, however, I'm not feeling.
Some people are saying that Miley Cyrus stole the night with her cropped top, but I think Jennifer still wins. I like Miley's hair short and I don't hate the outfit, I'm just not sure if the gypsy-esque ensemble was appropriate for the night.
Tributes Glimmer and Foxface, played by Levin Rambin and Jacqueline Emerson, get high marks from me for their colorful gowns. I love how it almost looks like they choose them based off of what would look good with their hair colors. I must say though, with the sparkle and plunging neckline, Levin wins this round.
The fashion surprise of the night was Amandla Stenberg who plays little Rue. She looks adorable and sophisticated at the same time, and I love that green! The cap sleeves are fabulous, as is her 1920s inspired hair. Can I have a bigger version pf this dress for myself?

What were your favorite fashions at the premiere?

I Love Rachel Bilson's Lucky Style

Lucky magazine's April cover girl is Rachel Bilson, and I love how they styled her! I'm a sucker for pink and floral prints.
This last outfit of the shirt and skirt is my favorite. Do you like the spread?

My Favorites at the Oscar's After Parties

The fashion didn't stop at the Academy Awards Sunday night. It continued to the after parties where we got to see some different celebs give it their all.
First up is Elton John's AIDS Foundation Oscar Party. Nina Dobrev rocked a black J. Mendel gown, while Miley Cyrus went Old Hollywood in Rodarte. Liam Hemsworth looks very nice, as well.
The dramatic fashion continued at the Vanity Fair party. Lily Collins donned a nude Monique Lhuillier gown with blue embroidered flowers. Claire Danes also went for whimsical in a pink Valentino dress with a sheer polka dot overlay. Selena Gomez kept it sexy in a sleek, silver Dolce & Gabanna dress.

Worst Dressed at the 84th Annual Academy Awards

There was a lot of fabulous fashion at the Oscars last night, but as always, there were a few bad apples. Here are my worst dressed from the show:
Shailene Woodley is 20 years old. Let that sink in for a moment. We've seen her rock dresses before, but this white Valentino Couture is way too old for her. Girl, you're young, why are you covering yourself up?
Here is another starlet who shouldn't have covered up. This all black sequin Diane Von Furstenburg number that Anna Faris chose was far too severe and just unflattering.
I will admit that Busy Phillips' Dolce & Gabanna dress isn't that bad. What's horrible is that she paired it with bright (ugly) pink shoes and blue and green earrings. Who styled this??
I saw way too much of Sherri Shepherd last night. The blue was okay, there was too much embellishment on top, AND I can see her bra. Enough said.
Melissa Leo did not look good at last year's Oscars, so I was hoping that she would step up her game to redeem herself this year. Instead she wore this Reem Acra dress. It looks like she wore a sequined buttoned up shirt and wore a sarong over it. Terrible.

Who was your worst dressed?

Honorable Mentions at the Oscars

Normally I only do a best and worst dressed for award shows because that's all that's worth mentioning. However, there were a lot of ladies who looked really good at last night's Oscars. So why not show them a little love?

Yay for Tina Fey for bringing it last night! She looked fabulous last night from head to toe. She told Tim Gunn she was loving the peplum on her Carolina Herrera dress and I have to agree. And who else loves the big hair?
I've really been loving Maria Menounos lately. The Maria Lucia dress was ethereal and the sage color is lovely, which gave her a fresh look. I really want to wear this.
Can we give Natalie Portman a round of applause for wearing vintage polka dots to the Academy Awards? The red gown was 1954 Christian Dior Haute Couture and I thought it was fabulous.
Kristen Wiig made me so happy last night with how good she looked. She's been suffering a little on the red carpets lately, but last night she finally won. I love the structure of this J. Mendel dress, the color, and her hair looked amazing.
I loved that the petition to get the Muppets at the Oscars worked! Sure, only two were allowed, but they won for Best Original Song and Miss Piggy looked fabulous in her custom Zac Posen gown. Seriously, like better than other people there.

Who else did you like at the Oscars?

Best Dressed at the 84th Annual Academy Awards

Last night was award season's highlight for film and fashion, but let's get right to the point. Here are my best dressed from the 2012 Oscars:
Milla Jovovich went for sophistication and glamour at the Oscars and it paid off. Her white, beaded Elie Saab dress made me sit up and take notice with the way it shimmered. Oh, and that structured shoulder is wonderful.
I am in love with Ellie Kemper's (Bridesmaids) fiery ensemble. The rust/copper Armani Prive dress complimented her red hair and it fit her like a glove. I love how it sparkles, and her earrings are a perfect match. I just love it!
Last night was the best I have ever seen Giuliana Rancic look. Her white Tony Ward Couture dress was so lovely and lavish. A lot of fashion critics have been saying that her hair and makeup were too severe, but I don't think so at all. She was the definition of glamour.
Like most people, I was getting worried that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie hadn't shown up to the red carpet by eight o'clock, but at last they came and wow! Angelina absolutely killed me in this black Atelier Versace gown. She looks absolutely stunning in velvet (Who looks good in velvet?!?!) and her leg stole the show.
Finally! Jessica Chastain has been hit and miss all award season, but last night she finally brought it in an exquisite black and gold embroidered Alexander McQueen gown. She looked amazing and is my absolute Best Dressed for the night.

Mena Survari Looks Adorable

Actress Mena Survari did a feature with Boston Common magazine and she looks so cute. The styling is both adorable and chic. It's making me want full bangs and strappy heels.
And look at this second picture! She's making yard work look pretty! I'm absolutely in love with her dress. I want to pile up on a-lines this Spring. Do you like Mena's spread?

Zooey Deschanel Is Pretty as a Present

Zooey Deschanel wowed at the Writers Guild Awards in a plaid vintage dress by Shareen.  I feel like if anyone else had worn this, it would have looked ridiculous, but on Zooey, it's perfect. Her hair and makeup were adorable, too.

What do you think of Zooey's look?

The Most Outrageous at The Grammy's

The Grammy's may be the biggest night in music, but it's also a big night for crazy fashion. Here are some of the most outrageous outfits from last night's Awards.
I don't know who this chick is, all I know is that Sasha Gradiva showed up with a machine gun attached to her arm. Um, what?
The tangerine (or sometimes red) lace/crochet/laset-cut dress has been a hot item this year. But Fergie took it to new heights by wearing nothing under her Jean Paul Gaultier dress but black undergarments.
I really don't understand what's going on here with Bonnie Mckee. She spent the whole red carpet walk playing with those yellow tassels and it's just not flattering. Or pretty.
Lady Gaga would be on this list, of course. While she stayed away from the red carpet Mother Monster was inside the Awards in a black and gold Versace number complete with a black netted veil over her face and a cane.
In the most outrageous fashion moment of the night, Nicki Minaj arrived in a red Versace hooded... thing with a man dressed as the pope. I don't get it. I don't think it's fashion and I don't understand it.

What did you think was the most outrageous look of the night? How do you feel about Nicki's outfit?

Best Dressed at The Grammy's

The fashion at last night's Grammy Awards featured a lot of hits and a lot of misses. Here are my top five best dressed of music's biggest night.
Julianne Hough rocked this black Kaufman Franco dress last night. Her hair and makeup were simple and sexy, and I agreed when Kelly Osbourne said she was the new Jennifer Aniston.
Speaking of Kelly Osbourne, this metallic Tony Ward gown made me forget her fashion grievances this year. I also like that her gray hair was a little more lavender.
Taylor Swift and I have a very similar sense of style, so of course I was going to love this gold Zuhair Murad gown. The beading and detailing is absolutely exquisite, the high collar and cut-out are beautiful, and her hair style is a nice change up from her normal locks. And before you say it's too sophisticated for the Grammy's, look at how dramatic it is.
Before last night, I had no idea who Mika Newton was (she's Ukrainian), but I did know that girl could work a dress. The cut-outs, the lace, the train, the hair, ah, gorgeous.
Most people wouldn't call Jessie J a fashion star, but no one could stop talking about her gorgeous Julien Macdonald dress. The mirror-like sequins were incredible and it fit her like a glove. The pictures don't do it justice.

Whose look did you love last night?

Shailene Woodley Rocks Valentino

Not many people paid attention to (or attended) the Directors Guild of America Awards Sunday night, but everyone noticed Shailene Woodley.

The young The Descendents star arrived in a killer look to support her director, Alexander Payne, and George Clooney, her co-star and director of The Ides of March.
She wore a red, see-through crochet Valentino Spring 2012 gown, paired a two-toned mini dress with a sweetheart neckline underneath, and then made it look flawless. Shai completed the ensemble with a long side braid and simple makeup.

I love this. It looks so interesting and young, and much, much better than what she wore the SAG awards. Do you agree?

My SAG Awards Favorites

The 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were held in Los Angeles Sunday night in The Shrine Auditorium. There were a ton of stars in attendance, and while the majority didn't brought their A-game (probably to make their Oscar debut that much better) there were a few ladies who got it right. Here are my favorite looks of the night (and yes, most of them are from Glee).
Naya Rivera was extremely glamorous in this slinky and sparkly Naeem Khan silver gown. This old Hollywood ensemble is total and complete redemption from the Golden Globes.
I love this fun look from Jenna Ushkowitz. The cut-out dress is by Rebecca Minkoff, and her hair and makeup are dazzling.
I thought Giuliana Rancic looked amazing in this red Basil Soda gown. The embellishments and silhouette made her look ten miles long.
Lea Michele amped up the sexy in this metallic Atelier Versace. That slit was daring, but she worked it, and the color is fabulous. It completely blew her Golden Globes ensemble out of the park.
Jayma Mays was my absolute favorite look of the nice. In fact, it's so good, she gets two photos.
Her black Acra gown was stunning. I love the train, the back, the sparkle, and her hair (and the earrings, OMG)! This is definitely her best red carpet appearance to date.

Honorable mentions go to Ariel Winter, Emma Stone, and Viola Davis. Who was your favorite?
