This Always Bugged Me
Who are these people? They spend the whole movie emphasizing that Belle and the Beast don't have any friends, so who are these people at their ball? It can't just be all of the servants in the castle. Who are you?!?

An Outfit with a Theme
It's another beautiful day and that needs to be celebrated with warm weather clothing, especially since the temperature is going to drop back down.
My outfit today is inspired by two of my favorite things: Disney and my favorite blog that combines fashion and Disney. Leslie over at Disneybound as been holding a challenge for readers to dress like Disney characters for the entire month of March. So here I am as Melody, Ariel's daughter. Even though the Disneybound Challenge ends next week, I think I'm going to continue. I just have to stock up on the right pieces!
My shirt is from New York & Company, my shorts are A.N.A., the heels are Lower East Side, I got the necklace at Charming Charlie, and my bow is from Icing. Oh, and the sweater (in case it cools down) is from Maurices. What do you think? Would you ever dress up like a character?

A Scandalous Matte Manicure
Today's mani may not be seasonally appropriate (I was watching Harry Potter at the time), but it is very cool. It was also one of the simplest ones I've done in a long time. It took me less than an hour to do my nails!
For my base color I chose Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear in Black Out. This polish is super cheap, but amazingly pigmented. I only needed one coat. Then I layered on one coat (yes, one!) of Revlon's Scandalous. Then to finish the look, I added a coat of Essie's Matte About You. That's it! Just three easy coats!
Scandalous is an amazing little jelly. It contains magenta micro glitter and hex glitter. I felt like the formula was much better than Whimsical, even though they're essentially the same. I also wasn't worried about getting as much glitter on my nails as possible, although the glitter did come out easier this time.
My nails looked cool with pink-purple glitter over black, but it felt a bit ordinary. I added the matte top coat and oh my goodness, instant love. It made the black look like a chalkboard or tar, and then the glitter took on a whole new look. It gave them a bit of a galaxy feel, which I've been wanting to try.
Would you wear this polish? What other colors should I layer Scandalous over?

Warm Weather Outfit
It's almost 80 degrees where I live today, and considering that it should be about 40, everyone has Spring (or should I say Summer?) fever.
Since this is such a momentous occasion, I thought I'd share my outfit today. Most of my warm weather clothes are still at home, so I had to make due with what I had in my closet. My shirt is from New York & Company, my skirt is from Maurices (don't you love the color?!), and I got my necklace from Delia's.
Want to know a secret? None of it is new! I've had everything I'm wearing for at least a year, if not more. Some people would look down on that, but I'm proud. It shows what I good shopper I am that I can buy pieces that last and stay current.

All Hail Elizabeth Banks
There have been a lot of Hunger Games related posts on the site recently, but I can't help it. I'm absolutely fascinated and leaning towards obsessed. The movie comes out Friday, but this will basically be going on until the end of March. I'm not sorry!
But let's get down to it, Elizabeth Banks has been rocking the premieres like it's nobody's business. Not only has she been consistently fashionable, she's created a theme worthy of Effie Trinket herself. All of her dresses have been bright, sparkly, and in fruity colors. I just love it.
At the Los Angeles premiere, she started out with a short orange dress with fun plastic swirls. Then in London she donned a long yellow Bill Blass gown. For the Paris premiere she chose a holographic magenta Marc Jacobs dress, and at the latest premiere in Berlin, Elizabeth went with orange again in a long Elie Saab.
I feel like it's so perfect. I swear Cinna is her stylist.

London Premiere Fashion
The Hunger Games cast traveled to London for another premiere and they did not disappoint! Check out Jennifer Lawrence and Elizabeth Banks killing it on the red carpet in Ralph Lauren and a backless Bill Blass.
I like that these ladies are creating a color scheme for their premiere wardrobes. Jennifer is wearing metallics in the gold family, while Elizabeth is going for citrus tones. I also like that they're both reminiscent of fire *hint hint.
If you want to read about the premiere, check out this article written by my friend Darci. You can find more "behind the scenes" stuff on her blog. She's studying abroad in London right and went to the premiere at the O2 Arena. Oh, and did I mention that she got to see the VIP screening? Yeah, she's kind of awesome.

Metallic Dots
I did my very first manicure using a dotting tool, and I have to say, I'm pretty happy. I am also proud that I came up with this idea on my own, instead of looking at other manis for inspiration.
The base color is OPI's I Have a Herring Problem, from their Holland collection. Let me tell you, it is so gorgeous! It's a lovely blue-gray with little, itty-bitty shimmers in it. For the dots I used Sally Hansen's Time to Shine, a bronzey-gold, which I also adore.
To make the dots I actually used a sewing pin! I mean, why buy a professional dotting tool when you have things around your house that do the same thing? I just rubbed the rounded end of the pin on the brush, tapped the excess polish onto a piece of paper, and then pressed the polished pin to my nail.
For the design I did four dots in a vertical line on each nail, with five dots on the thumbs. Since I'm new at dotting, they're not all equal, but I still like it. They ended up reminding of jeans because the blue looked like denim with brass buttons. Talk about a fashion mani!

Notable Fashion from The Hunger Games Premiere
It has started! The first premiere for The Hunger Games was held in Los Angeles, which means we're getting closer and closer to the grand release date.
Let's start with Jennifer Lawrence, who completely aced the night in her gold Prabal Gurung gown. It had cutout sides and back, an ultra cool metallic sheen, and some sheer fabric on the shoulders. I love her hair and dark nails, too. She definitely looks like a girl on fire.
Next up is Elizabeth Banks, who also went for a fiery approach to fashion. Her orange dress featured plastic, circular designs, which I have to admit is growing on me (It's very Effie, no?). The hair, however, I'm not feeling.
Some people are saying that Miley Cyrus stole the night with her cropped top, but I think Jennifer still wins. I like Miley's hair short and I don't hate the outfit, I'm just not sure if the gypsy-esque ensemble was appropriate for the night.
Tributes Glimmer and Foxface, played by Levin Rambin and Jacqueline Emerson, get high marks from me for their colorful gowns. I love how it almost looks like they choose them based off of what would look good with their hair colors. I must say though, with the sparkle and plunging neckline, Levin wins this round.
The fashion surprise of the night was Amandla Stenberg who plays little Rue. She looks adorable and sophisticated at the same time, and I love that green! The cap sleeves are fabulous, as is her 1920s inspired hair. Can I have a bigger version pf this dress for myself?

About the Lack of Content...
I know I have posted much (at all) in the last few days, so to you loyal readers, I apologize. I honestly just haven't had the time or inspiration to put anything up. I started up classes again today and my old job, and then add on my other internship and family stuff, so it may take me a couple more days to get into the groove of that.
I'm also thinking about cutting the daily amount of posts down from five to four. It will make it a little easier to schedule and you still get more than one post a day. So I would appreciate it if you hung around. I promise I'll get it together and post some content soon.
Until then, stay chic!

Watch and Cry: Demi Lovato Special
I think Demi Lovato is an inspiration to girls everywhere.
When she started out in the Disney spotlight, I wasn't a huge fan. I didn't hate Demi. In fact, I bought a few of her songs. I just wasn't that into her. Then she went to rehab for eating disorders and self harm. It was after that event and her honesty after her release that I became a fan.
I admire Demi for the courage she had to not only go to rehab, but to speak about her experiences and addictions was absolutely inspiring. The things she went through are more common than people want to believe, so I love that she is out there telling people how it is. I am amazed by her and her new music.
I wasn't able to watch her special, Demi Lovato: Stay Strong, on MTV Tuesday night. Fortunately, they uploaded it to their website. I quivered a little in the beginning, but by the half way point I was bawling, getting tears all over my cat. It was lovely and brave, and it really puts things in perspective. Check it out:
Be honest, did you cry?

Ellie Goulding Dedication Day
If you live where I live then you know that the weather is absolutely GORGEOUS today. It's over sixty degrees! As a result, I've got some serious Spring fever which means I want music that makes me happy.
Despite my love and adoration of Ellie Goulding, I've somehow never mentioned her on here (read about the time I met her here). Today I am making up for that by featuring some of my favorite happy-Ellie songs. Enjoy!
And because you can no longer embed the original official video, here is a lyric video for "Under the Sheets."
Now out into the sunshine!

I'm Not in Love with Jennifer Lawrence's Seventeen Photos
Maybe it's because her Glamour shoots were so awesome, but I am not feeling Jennifer Lawrence in April's Seventeen magazine.
I feel like the only somewhat redeemable photo is the one of her up against the fence post. What do you think of Jennifer Lawrence in Seventeen?
Image Source Image Source Image Source Image Source Image Source Image Source Image Source
This is her first cover of Seventeen and it's out during promotion for one of the biggest movies of the year. I get that she grew up near a horse farm, and I love that concept. But what is this?
I don't like the makeup or the styling. Jennifer is a beautiful girl, she should look better than this!I feel like the only somewhat redeemable photo is the one of her up against the fence post. What do you think of Jennifer Lawrence in Seventeen?

Mila Kunis Brings the Fun to Harper's Bazaar
Harper's Bazaar's April cover girl is Mila Kunis. The "good bad girl" wears a pink Versace dress on the cover, and is featured in a super fun carrousel photo spread shot by Terry Richardson.
The interview doesn't reveal anything new or startling about the starlet, but the photos were reason enough to report on it.
Mila looks gorgeous in every single one. It's amazing how she can go from looking seductively sexy in one to fun in the next.
Which photo is your favorite? (I'm partial to the balloons and the gold dress!)
