The smoldering love triangle cast of The CW's hit show,
The Vampire Diaries are featured in the latest issue of
Entertainment Weekly, and all I can say is um, wow.
The trio usually does sexy photos and video promos for the show, but I would say that this one takes the cake. The fact that there are not one, not two, but
three covers makes this truly awesome for fans like myself.
The corresponding article (yeah, I guess there's words with these pictures or something) feature the show's executive producers Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson
discussing the long-awaited kiss between Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Damon (real life BF, Ian Somerhalder). Plec said:
"How can we service this moment between our characters that we really want, a Damon and Elena kiss, without getting the Stefan-Elena side of the fandom to give up hope and give up on us? And vice versa, when we want Stefan and Elena to have a moment together, how can we do that and not have our Delena fans outraged?"
Williamson
also addressed the Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Elena, who are technically broken up since he went all evil, matter in the kiss:
"It's one of those things that you want to be able to defend. But even more importantly, you'd rather not defend it. You want it to feel real and right and natural by all the audience."
Even though I started out as a Stefan-Elena girl, I've since moved toward the Damon-Elena side. That kiss? I wasn't mad. These pictures? Why are you so pretty, cast?
